Professional background

Declan Chard was an undergraduate at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, and undertook his specialist training in neurology in London.

He completed his PhD at the Institute of Neurolgy, Queen Sqaure, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess the effects MS has on the brain and how these relate to clinical outcomes.

He is an honorary consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, with a specialist interest in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system.
