Dr Enrico Bugiardini is a consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where he runs dedicated specialised clinics for muscle diseases and Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Research interests

Dr Bugiardini has a specific clinical and research interest in FSHD, and he is committed to trial readiness and therapeutic development. He is currently conducting clinical studies to validate outcome measures and accelerate drug development in addition to actively participating in clinical trials. As part of his commitments, he is part of the Core Group of Experts of FSHD Europe, FSHD UK Core Team and a member of the FHSD Clinical Trial Research Network (FSHD-CTRN).

He also has a research interest in understanding the genetic basis of inherited myopathies and mitochondrial diseases.
