Professional background

Dr Joanna Lukawska is a consultant in adult allergy medicine at University College Hospital London. She is also involved in clinical research at King's College London and University College London.

In 2000, she graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine. She then undertook general medical training at St Bart’s and the Royal London Hospital leading to MRCP in 2004.

Joanna joined the allergy training programme at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2005, where she trained under Professor Chris Corrigan, Professor Tak Lee and Dr. Pierre Dugue.

Her clinical work encompasses all aspects of contemporary allergy practice and includes: drug allergy with particular focus on drug desensitisation, eosinophilic disorders, food allergy and immunotherapy. She is involved in promoting compassionate care, hospital safety and medical education.

Research interests

Her research interests include diagnosis and treatment of drug allergy as well as cell tracking and its potential applications to asthma, allergy, oncology and transplantation medicine.
