Professional background

MBChB FRCAp

I was appointed as a consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2009. During my time there I developed my interest in neuroanaesthesia and pre-assessment.

Since 2011 I have been a member of the neuroanaesthetic department at Queen Square, which has been full time since June 2012. I enjoy working in a dynamic and forward thinking department and hospital. I work in a variety of different clinical areas such as neuroradiology, complex spine and intracranial surgery.

I have continued my role as a consultant in pre-assessment and our centre has expanded to have five consultants working there. I was clinical director for theatres, neuroanaesthesia and neurocritical care at Queen Square from January 2016 to January 2020. I thoroughly enjoyed this dynamic and busy role working closely with both clinical and managerial divisional team members. I am also an educational supervisor to our neuroanaesthetic trainees at Queen Square.
