Professional background

Dr Leigh Dyet is a consultant in neonatal medicine working within the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing at UCLH and the clinical lead. She studied medicine at Newcastle University Medical School and trained in neonatology at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and UCLH. She was awarded a PhD by the University of London for her work identifying the relationships between brain MRI abnormalities and neurodevelopmental outcome in preterm infants.

She has a specific interest in fetal and neonatal neurology and neuroimaging and also neonatal neurodevelopment. As well as working on the neonatal unit, Dr Dyet currently provides a neonatal neurodevelopmental follow-up service for infants diagnosed antenatally with brain abnormalities as well as neonatal neurology cases. She continues to be actively involved in research in neonatal neurodevelopment and neuroimaging.
