Professional background

I trained at University College London Medical School graduating with distinction. I undertook my junior doctor training across London before being appointed to an NIHR academic clinical fellowship in infectious diseases. I subsequently undertook a Wellcome Trust funded PhD at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine based in the Solomon Islands. I subsequently returned to clinical training as an NIHR clinical lecturer and continued to conducted research in the Pacific as well as West and East Africa.

I was promoted to associate professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2019 and on completion of my clinical training took up a position as honorary consultant in infectious diseases and general medicine at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, University College London Hospital in 2021.
