Professional background

MbChB (UCT), FRCA)

I am a consultant neuroanaesthetist with a special interest in patients having complex spinal operations and those with a “difficult airway”  - these include patients with cervical spine instability and unusual anatomical features of the head and neck. I lead the pre-operative assessment clinic, which aims to ensure patients are medically fit to undergo surgery and provide information about their procedure and hospital stay.

I have been at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) since 2007 and have worked in the NHS since 2000.  A University of Cape Town graduate, I worked for several years in South Africa and have experience of a wide range of surgical procedures.
