Professional background

Neelam Kumar qualified in Medicine from Oxford and Cambridge Universities subsequently training in respiratory medicine in the North West Thames deanery.

She was awarded a presitigious Wellcome-UCL Clinical PhD fellowship in 2014 to study novel personalised therapies in mesothelioma.

She was subsequently awarded a NIHR academic clinical lectureship to develop a novel anti-cancer drug based on findings from her PhD.

Her clinical and research interests include thoracic malignancies, pleural disease and drug discovery/development.
