Professional background

Dr van Vucht is a consultant radiologist at UCLH with a subspecialty in musculoskeletal imaging, focusing on diagnostic imaging and intervention of bone, joint, and soft tissue disorders.

His medical and radiology training was undertaken at the Amsterdam UMC in the Netherlands. After qualifying as a radiologist, he further developed his special interest in trauma radiology at the Royal London Hospital. Dr van Vucht subsequently completed a dedicated fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, focused on bone and soft tissue sarcoma and image-guided interventions.

Within UCLH dr. van Vucht specialises in the imaging and image-guided intervention of orthopaedic, rheumatological, and oncological musculoskeletal problems using a range of modalities, including ultrasound, MRI, CT, radiography, and fluoroscopy.

He performs a range of interventional musculoskeletal procedures from ultrasound-guided injections to CT-guided bone biopsies. As a member of the London sarcoma team he is dealing with the diagnosis and image-guided intervention of bone and soft tissue tumours. His passion for teaching reflects in his work being a co-editor of medical imaging chapters in 2 physics books and as an invited lecturer on the MSc Sports Exercise and Medicine Programme of University College of London and Queen Mary University of London.
