Graduated from University of Aberdeen (1995), underwent training in Medical Ocology (1998 - 2007), with PhD undertaken at Cancer Research UK (2000 - 2004). Underwent training in cellular pathology (2007 - 2014), with Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London (2008 - 2013) and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Fellowship at Royal Marsden Hospital (2013 - 2014).

Consultant pathologist at St George’s Hospital (2014 - 2023), specialising in GI, breast and cytopathology. Consultant pathologist at UCLH since 2023, specialising in GI pathology.
