Professional background

Mr Obi Agu is consultant general vascular and endovascular surgeon at UCLH.

Obi studied medicine at University of Nigeria, and trained in general surgery, vascular and endovascular surgery in North Thames rotation and University College Hospitals. Obi has a specialist interest in endovascular management of complex aortic disease and is a regular speaker and trainer in endovascular techniques for aortic aneurysms and endovenous therapy. He was vascular research fellow at Royal Free Hospital, and awarded a Master of Surgery for work on the haemodynamic and histological changes in venous disease.

Obi is a fellow of the Royal College of surgeons, the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and the International Society of Endovascular surgeons.

  • Endovenous laser therapy for varicose veins
  • Carotid artery surgery under local anaesthetic for stroke prevention 
  • Vascular malformations
  • Leg pain and lymphoedema
  • Management of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
  • Smoking cessation and wellbeing
