- Physical health concerns including infectious diseases
- Mental and emotional health difficulties
- Child development and behavioural concerns
- Oral health needs
- Sexual and reproductive health including need for access to antenatal care
- Safeguarding needs
- Access to healthcare
Your appointment
Our specialist admin team will book you for an appointment via your accommodation site. You will receive a phone call and text message with the time, date and location.
Each appointment will be approximately 50 minutes per person. You will be seen by a specialist Inclusion and Infection Nurse Practitioner. If you need a translator, a hospital-approved telephone interpreter will be provided.
During the appointment, the nurse will ask you questions about your background, health and well- being. Your blood pressure, height and weight will be checked.
Your nurse will also take blood tests and ask for a urine and stool sample. Young children will be asked to attend UCLH for blood tests later.
All the information you give us is confidential.
After your appointment
After your appointment, any issues raised will be dealt with by referring you to your GP or a specialist health service. We may phone you to discuss your results. After a few weeks, you will receive an Integrated Migrant Healthcare Plan document in the post. This document will summarise the health and well-being needs identified during your Respond appointment and outline a plan for how these needs should be met. This information will also be sent to your GP.
