A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within our pioneering acute trust, which offers unrivalled staff development opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced procurement leader to join as chief procurement officer for the trust. Ideally you will have experience and/or regular exposure at board level. In this role, you will act as a key member of our outstanding leadership team, with a high profile not just within UCLH but externally too. You will work closely with board members, directors and senior clinicians across UCLH and beyond. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership on all procurement and supply chain matters to our senior directors team and board, and will be responsible for providing an exceptional procurement and supply chain service for a trust with a turnover of around £1.5bn and non-pay spend of around £0.7bn.
This role will lead on all aspects of the procurement and supply chain function for this complex NHS trust employing more than 11,000 staff, as well as leading and developing the trust’s collaborative procurement work within the North Central London integrated care system and beyond. This will include attending and presenting at the senior directors team and board sub committees on a range of procurement and supply chain issues.

As a member of the senior leadership team at UCLH, you will share responsibility for the overall strategic direction and management of the trust. As part of the deputy chief executive and chief financial officer’s leadership team, you will provide leadership and direction to the procurement and supply chain function. This will include the development of the capability of the department, ensuring it meets the organisation’s and integrated care system’s needs. You will advocate on EDI, you will actively support and enable flexible working across the procurement and supply chain function and beyond, and will demonstrate a leadership style in line with our values.
You will be technically and intellectually strong with exceptional vision and leadership skills and experience driving continuous improvement across the procurement and supply chain function and beyond. A natural collaborator, you will excel working with key stakeholders such as the medical directors and their teams as well as the wider board of directors and senior directors team, together with the wider procurement and supply chain function across North Central London, helping to shape the future of collaborative procurement in one of the most interesting and diverse integrated care systems in the NHS.
