Professional background

Dr Sara Polhill is a consultant in critical care medicine and anaesthesia at UCLH, and is lead for paediatric anaesthesia.

Sara studied medicine at Southampton University Medical School, and trained in anaesthesia at Guy’s, St Thomas’s and Kings Hospitals.
She trained in paediatric anaesthesia at Great Ormond Street and Evelina Children’s Hospitals and critical care medicine at St Thomas’s, The Royal Brompton and Chelsea and Westminster hospitals.

She chaired the young fellows committee and sat on the anaesthetic section committee at the Royal Society of Medicine.

Sara continues to develop the paediatric service at UCLH.

She is an examiner for the European diploma of intensive care medicine (EDIC).
