UCLH Charity

UCLH Charity provides support for patients, staff and medical research at UCLH. Everything that we do supports the patients treated by the hospitals, directly or indirectly.

This includes:

  • purchasing a large piece of medical equipment to enhance treatment
  • providing flowers and art to improve the environment
  • funding extra training or conferences for staff
  • pump-priming research that may result in better therapies in future.

Our aim is always to make a difference.

UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation

UCLH Charitable Foundation is the main fundraising charity for key research, building and equipment projects across all University College London Hospitals. The scope of its fundraising reflects the diversity of the hospitals’ specialities. A current key project is to support the new UCLH Cancer Centre, due to open in 2012.

University College Hospital Cancer Fund

The University College Hospital Cancer Fund helps to provide care and support for our cancer patients, their relatives and carers above and beyond what the NHS is able to fund. This includes funding for our Macmillan Support and Information Service, which offers welfare and benefits advice, information and trained professionals to drop in and talk to about any concerns, counselling and psychological support, wig fitting, complementary therapies and a lymphodema service.  The fund also helps to finance improvements to the patient and staff environment, equipment, research and staff education

The National Brain Appeal

The National Brain Appeal is the charity dedicated to raising funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery which, together with the Institute of Neurology, is a worldwide leader in the research and treatment of brain disorders. These include brain and spinal cancer, dementia, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and head injuries.

Haematology Cancer Care, UCLH Charity

Haematology Cancer Care is a world centre of excellence in the treatment and care of leukaemia and other haematological disorders. Funds are raised to improve the environment and experience for patients having treatment in the Unit. They are also used to purchase amenities, support free complementary therapy for patients and families and support the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for the wards. The Fund also supports postgraduate education for nurses.

The Friends of UCLH

The Friends of UCLH is a Registered Charity that aims to help the hospital, its patients and staff by providing facilities and amenities that are not available from the National Health Service. It provides many items that would not otherwise be affordable.

The EGA Hospital Charity

The EGA Hospital Charity charity aims to promote the relief of sickness among women. To achieve this we use our funds to purchase specialist equipment not provided by the NHS, to support small research and innovative teaching and training projects.
