Professional background

Pippa Sangster is a consultant urologist at UCLH specialising in andrology. She is the lead for male factor infertility within the reproductive medical unit. She is also a board member for the European Association of Urology’s Andrology section. 

She is an honorary associate professor at University College London. 

Pippa qualified from Guy's and St Thomas's medical school. She has further degrees in Psychology (BSc) and achieved the gold medal in the Urology MSc. 

As well as completing general urological training, she spent three years sub-specialising in andrology at St George's and Guy's hospitals, before carrying out a fellowship at UCLH. She has been a consultant at UCLH since 2017. 

Her specialist interest is male factor infertility, particularly in regard to surgical sperm retrieval (microTESE), vasectomy reversal and epididymal reconstruction. UCLH has a very strong fertility preservation service and Pippa runs the male service, with strong interests in spermatogonial stem cell preservation in young men with about to received chemotherapy/radiotherapy. She has built strong links with the reproductive medicine unit, endocrinology, haematology and oncology to ensure the fertility of these patients can be preserved or helped. 

In addition to providing surgical care to men requiring penile implants, Peyronie’s disease correction, testicle pathology and endocrine/hormonal stimulation. She runs the multidisciplinary Klinefelter clinic covering the endocrine, psychological and urological needs for boys and men with Klinefelter disease. 

Pippa runs the benign andrology fellowship at UCLH, including running the application and interview process and the surgical and educational timetable for the large benign team. She is a lecturer for the MSc in reproductive health and runs several projects with these students. 

She is well published and spends much of her time giving talks at an international and national level.
