If you are in receipt of benefits you may be entitled to reclaim transport fares when visiting the hospital for an inpatient or outpatient appointment. Please ask the clinic staff for an attendance form and take this to the appropriate hospital's Cashiers Office. Reimbursement can be made at the time of your visit if you can produce your benefit book.
Car parking is extremely difficult around UCLH sites. Parking meters are located around all the hospital sites, but these are usually full.
Patients with disabled parking badges who are being treated at University College Hospital (incorporating the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing) or the Rosenheim Building can apply for a parking dispensation. They will need to come into the hospital bringing with them their appointment letter, 'blue badge' (this must belong to the person attending the appointment or a guardian) and their car registration number. If you have been given a follow-up appointment you can arrange your next dispensation before leaving the hospital, providing you have your appointment letter, 'blue badge' and car registration number.
Dispensations are only given for outpatient appointments, not for visiting relatives or 'blue badge' holders to park long term whilst they are inpatients.
There is general disabled parking on the Camden side of the Euston Road.
Please see the Heart Hospital page for information about getting to The Heart Hospital.
Normal blue badge restrictions apply in Queen Square and streets close to the square.
Patients who have appointments at other hospitals within the Trust and hold ‘blue badge’ permits are able to apply for ‘green badge’ parking permits. These allow for parking on the streets adjacent to the hospital sites on the day of the appointment on single yellow lines only (where there are no loading restrictions).
To apply for a parking permit in the green badge area, applicants must write requesting a permit from National Car Parks (NCP) one week in advance of their appointment to allow processing. Applicants must send the following documents:
- A covering letter
- A copy of their appointment letter or appointment card from the hospital
- A copy of their blue badge
- A copy of the vehicle registration document.
This information should be sent to:
National Car Parks (NCP)
13-15 Guilford Street
London WC1N 1DW
Tel: 020 7974 4696
Fax: 020 7974 8115
Patients who receive regular treatment can apply for a permit valid for two months. Along with the above documents, these patients must send a letter from the doctor stating that they are a patient receiving regular treatment.
If you are driving to UCLH please be aware that most of our hospitals are within the congestion charge zone. Find out more about the congestion charge zone here.
