The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has announced that industrial action will take place at a number of NHS trusts across the country on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 January.
The strike action will impact all hospitals at UCLH.
During strike action we will prioritise emergency care and patients seeking urgent treatment will be seen. We are working hard to ensure we minimise disruption to services and maintain patient safety during this time.
If we need to rearrange any appointments, we will contact patients directly to let them know. If you have an appointment at any of our hospitals, please assume this is going ahead unless you have been told otherwise. If you’re concerned and feel you need to speak to someone, please contact your clinical team using the contact information on your appointment letter or on our website. If you’re still concerned then you can find details of our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on our website.
Ambulance workers are planning strike action on 11 and 23 January.
Our maternity services and emergency department remain open – please do attend as normal if you need urgent care. Patients requiring the Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU) should attend our Emergency Department first, as we are running a reduced service on 18 and 19 January.
If you need medical help or advice, go to NHS 111 online www.111.nhs.uk or call 111 unless it is a life-threatening emergency when you should still call 999.
