Three Arsenal stars surprised young people at UCLH this week, delivering gifts to patients and meeting families and staff.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya and defender Jurrien Timber were joined by rising star Tommy Setford, who also represents England’s Under 20s international team.
The players visited patients on our teenage and young adult cancer unit. Several young Arsenal fans, and their families, were delighted to meet the Premier League stars who posed for photos, handed out gifts, and signed shirts and scarves.
The players were shown around the ward by nursing staff and support workers on the teenage and young adult cancer unit.
Andre Thomas, youth support coordinator, said:
"The Arsenal visit was a special and memorable moment for the children and young people undergoing treatment, and such a boost at this time of the year.”
Emma Tyler, ward sister, said:
“It was a pleasure to see the excitement on the unit, and what the visit meant to the young people and their families in our care.”
Thank you to UCLH Charity for their help in organising the visit, and to Arsenal FC for their generosity and bringing festive cheer to our patients.
