The musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient therapy service at University College Hospital provides assessment and treatment of patients for a variety of specialities including orthopaedic, rheumatology, hand therapy, women’s health, orthotic, podiatry and spinal non-operative and operative patients with musculoskeletal dysfunction.

A number of tests are carried out by the routine haemostasis/haematology laboratories. These include full blood count, ESR, sickle cell and glandular fever screening, malaria antigen testing, blood films and acanthocytes, coagulation screens (INR/heparin monitoring), fibrinogen and D-dimers (DIC screening).

The sleep service at UCH is run within the department of Thoracic Medicine. We have particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of ventilatory disorders during sleep, including obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, sleep disordered breathing and assessment of respiratory failure.
