Professor Sarah Tabrizi elected to Royal Society for pioneering Huntington's research

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery’s Professor Tabrizi is amongst a small number of exceptional researchers from across the world elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society today.  

Recognised for their invaluable contributions to science, the elected Fellows are leaders in their fields. Other elected Fellows in 2024 include Professor Anthony Fauci, the former Chief Scientific Advisor to the US President and Nobel laureate, Professor Emmanuelle Charpentier. 

Professor Tabrizi is recognised for her pioneering research into disease mechanisms and treatments for Huntington’s Disease along with other scientists credited for furthering human understanding and helping to address some of our greatest challenges.  

UCLH CEO, David Probert said: 

“Huge congratulations to Sarah for being elected for such a distinguished honour for her important work at the UCLH National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery to research treatments for people living with Huntington’s Disease. Professor Tabrizi said: “It is such an honour to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society and to be able to shine a light on our work around Huntington’s Disease.
