Professional background

Dr Lydia Lee graduated from UCL in 2004 and completed her Clinical Haematology training in the North West London Rotation. She completed her PhD in CAR-T cell therapy for Multiple Myeloma in the labs of Prof Kwee Yong and Dr Martin Pule at the UCL Cancer Institute. During her PhD, she developed the first myeloma CAR-T cell trial to enter clinical trials in Europe, and has subsequently opened the first academic CAR-T cell trial in the UK for myeloma and also for AL amyloidosis. She is a consultant haematology at UCLH seeing patients with myeloma and also runs a research laboratory group at the UCL Cancer Institute.
