I qualified from United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospitals in 1994, initially starting my training in general medicine before entering the Imperial School of Anaesthesia and the pan-London training in intensive care medicine.

I was awarded a British Heart Foundation fellowship for my higher research training at the National Heart and Lung Institute/Royal Brompton Hospital. As well as being awarded my PhD by the University of London, I hold postgraduate qualifications in medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.

I started as a consultant at ULCH in 2009. I currently co-lead the critical care clinical trial team.
