Hannah Jacob

Dr Hannah Jacob is a consultant paediatrician and the Named Doctor for Child Safeguarding at UCLH. She has a special interest in children and young people’s safeguarding, acute general paediatrics, nephrology and asthma.

Hannah works across the children and young people’s inpatient wards and the paediatric emergency department as well as running regular general paediatric, rapid access and asthma clinics. 

Hannah trained at the University of Cambridge, graduating with distinction before undertaking foundation training in Oxford. During paediatric training in London, Hannah worked in a wide range of subspecialties including paediatric intensive care medicine, nephrology and community paediatrics with posts at Evelina Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. 

Hannah was awarded an Academic Clinical Fellowship funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR). During the fellowship she obtained a Distinction in the MSc in Advanced Paediatrics at the UCL-Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. Hannah has published a range of peer reviewed publications on topics including child safeguarding, medical education and mental health.

Hannah is a Course Director for the Advanced Paediatric Life Support simulation courses and regularly lectures on UCL's BSc and MSc programmes as well as running UCLH's London School of Paediatrics simulation courses. Hannah currently represents general paediatrics on the RCPCH Training and Quality Board.
