Professional background

Ms Ravijyot Saggu studied Pharmacy (BPharm) at the London School of Pharmacy (University of London) and graduated in 1999. She went on to pursue a career in hospital pharmacy undertaking further postgraduate study with subsequent respiratory study. She currently works at University College Hospital, London, as a lead clinical pharmacist for medicine and emergency services with a respiratory specialism and interest in interstitial lung disease (ILD) and airways disease (including severe asthma).

She is an honorary clinical lecturer for UCL & School of Pharmacy and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain as well as being an independent prescriber and a member of the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association respiratory group (and chair of their respiratory group). She has affiliations with various respiratory organisations such as the Pan London Airways Network and British Lung Foundation and was a committee member on the British Thoracic Society (BTS) macrolides guidelines group and the NICE COPD guidelines committee (2019).

She is also a current member of the pharmacist specialist advisory group to the BTS and expert panel member for NICE and author/contributor to CPPE COPD and asthma respiratory pharmacy learning packages.
