Professional background

Professor Steve Hallighan has been professor of gastrointestinal radiology at UCLH since 2005. He was appointed NIHR senior investigator in 2009. Academy of medical sciences 2017.

Research interests

  • Colorectal cancer imaging, especially CT colonography (virtul colonoscopy)
  • Anal fistula imaging by MRI
  • Imaging of inflammatory bowel disease; e.g. MRI of Crohn's disease
  • Imaging of anal incontinence, especially anal endosonography for post-obstetric incontinence

Publications

More than 400 peer-reviewed indexed publications since 1996, including several international invited reviews of gastrointestinal imaging.
