The Unit’s research strategy is clinical and patient-centred, with the primary objective being to further improve the outcome and the quality of life of patients, and to advance surgical therapies for patients with pituitary and central skull base disease. The approach is multidisciplinary, multicentre, and multinational.
We collaborate closely with engineers through the TeQ group to further improve the safety and effectiveness of our skull base techniques using technologies such artificial intelligence and robotics, to enhance surgical decision making and execution respectively.
We also collaborate with endocrinologists and other scientists to better understand the genetic causes for these diseases with a view towards developing novel therapies.
Our research is only made possible through funding by the National Brain Appeal. We are very grateful to the many patients, family, and friends, who have already contributed funds to support our research. For those who wish to make a contribution, please consider giving to National Brain Appeal stating that you would like your donation to specifically go towards our pituitary research, or contact us directly through.
