Welcome to the Living Room
The Living Room is a relaxed, open space for everyone. Here you’ll find our Support Workers, who provide nonclinical support and information on a wide range of matters. We also host wellbeing activities and information seminars – check the noticeboard or speak to a member of staff for details of upcoming sessions.
Using the Living Room
- Open to all, any time
- Refreshments available – help yourself
- Comfortable seating, desk space with power outlets, and a quiet corner with reclining chairs
- Please note: the room may be busier during activities, and access could be limited at those times
The Living Room also contains a wide selection of free information booklets and leaflets. If you can’t find what you need, ask one of our Support Workers.
Support and Information
Our Support Workers are available Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:30, on a drop-in basis. They are nonclinical staff who offer confidential support to any adult affected by cancer, including:
- Emotional impact of cancer
- Wellbeing advice and activities
- Accessing financial support
- Travel information
- Local support groups and services

Please note: any clinical queries will be passed on to your Specialist Radiographer. If you are 18 or under, please speak to your Specialist Radiographer, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Social Worker.
Activities
The Living Room hosts a variety of sessions, such as:
- Yoga, art, and mindfulness
- Talks on managing fatigue
- Life after treatment workshops
Check the noticeboard for the timetable or ask a member of staff. If you’d like to suggest an activity, speak to one of our Support Workers.
