From 6th May 2025 the following GP access cardiac diagnostic tests will need to be sent to the NCL Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Finchley Memorial Hospital. There is no change to the request form, however, these will now need to be sent to a different email address instead (rf-tr.fmh-cdcbooking@nhs.net). Any requests received at UCH will be forwarded to the CDC until the end of June. However, requests received after June will be sent back to the GP practice to forward to the correct email address at the CDC Finchley Memorial.

GP requested Cardiology diagnostic tests:

  • 24hr Tape
  • 24hr Blood Pressure
  • Transthoracic Echo

This process does not impact on walk-in ECG requests.

If you are notified by the CDC of  any unexpected findings on these tests and advised to refer on to secondary care for cardiology review, if referring to UCH, please include in your referral the echo report.  If the echo report is not included this may delay triage and an appointment being offered.

Out of hours

The normal working hours for the Communications Unit are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. The only media enquiries that will be answered outside of these working hours are urgent enquiries and those relating to major incidents. To access the out-of-hours service, call the switchboard on 020 3456 7890.
