On Tuesday 09th of September 2025, UCLH NHS Trust will transition to a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for Blood Science disciplines’ (Biochemistry, Immunology, Haematology, Coagulation and Virology) testing. The new platform is known as ‘Helix’. This builds upon previous go-lives for Cellular Pathology and Microbiology disciplines.

GP practices will receive, access and view reports in the same way as they do currently.

This is a change to the laboratory system only, as such there should be no change to GP users in requesting or receiving reports. All results will be returned to the practice via the Health Services Laboratory keystone link which is the interface software between the systems.

This pathway has been thoroughly tested and will be spot checked post go-live; however, please can we ask that you also monitor requests with extra diligence, ensuring that you continue to receive results in the usual way following the transfer date. Please report any discrepancies immediately to helpdesk@tdlpathology.com

With these results will be coming from a new system, some clinician names may be formatted slightly differently, and you may find that some of the inbound users matches are no longer linked. As a consequence, we are asking all practices to check their unassigned mailbox as a routine process for a few weeks post-go live. We have attached a guide to re-match inbound clinicians in EMIS.
