The Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) Service was established at UCLH to offer high quality care for adults and adolescents suspected of having HLH. We provide multi-disciplinary care for patients with HLH in-patients and out-patients at UCLH, and an advisory service for patients outside of UCLH. Patients are referred from other secondary care providers or from GPs. Our team consists of doctors from rheumatology, haematology, infectious diseases, virology, neurology and critical care. Our patients are supported by our psychologists, clinical nurse specialists and physiotherapists. Patient aftercare will depend upon patient need, but is likely to include follow-up in consultant-led clinics, and email support from clinical nurse specialists.
