If you are eligible for your COVID-19 vaccination and haven’t been contacted by the NHS yet, you can now book your COVID-19 vaccination appointment at a vaccination centre or community pharmacy:

The NHS will let you know when it's your turn to have the vaccine. Please do not contact the NHS for a vaccination before then. For more information please visit https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.

However, if you are in one of the eligible groups you can now book your COVID-19 vaccination appointment by visiting www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119 free of charge. You no longer need a letter from the NHS, just your NHS number or date of birth and postcode. If there are no appointments available at the time of booking, please try again later, or wait for the NHS to contact you.

If you have had your first dose of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine or The Francis Crick Institute, you will soon be receiving an appointment for you to have your second (booster) vaccine. If we have your email address and/or mobile phone number you will receive an email and/or a text inviting you to be vaccinated over the coming weeks. Please note: the email will come from the email address noreply@covmis.co.uk. Appointments will be released in phases.  Please wait to be contacted

Our aim is to give the second vaccine eight weeks after you received your first dose. We have planned our booster clinics carefully, so please make every effort to accept the date and time offered.   However, if this is not possible for you, there will be a link in the email to cancel and rebook. If you have any issues with this, please email uclh.covidvacc@nhs.net

We will try to accommodate requests subject to availability. Please note: You will not be able to ask for the appointment to be brought forward to a much earlier date.

Please note, Clinic K at University College Hospital has now closed. If you have had your first dose of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine at University College Hospital or the Francis Crick Institute please rebook using this link

Following government guidance, University College London Hospitals is now inviting people to have their free NHS COVID-19 vaccination if they are within the parameters of the current prioritised groups.

If you have already had your first dose or have an upcoming booking, either locally through your GP or at a mass vaccination centre, you don’t need to take any further action at this time. Or if you would rather have an appointment at another location, please wait for an invitation from your GP.

If you would like to have your vaccine at UCLH’s Francis Crick Institute vaccination site at King’s Cross, you can launch the booking system here select an upcoming date and time. Before booking your slot, we recommend you take a look at the what to expect after your vaccination leaflet or the alternative leaflet aimed at older adults. There, you can find information about the vaccine and its uncommon side effects (leaflets available in multiple languages). Please note that you will be asked to consent to getting the vaccine before booking an appointment.

There are 6 steps to complete your booking:

1. Fill in the questionnaire as instructed. This is your agreement to share your information with the national vaccines database.

2. During the booking process, you will be asked if the jab is appropriate for you. Please select “No” if any of the following apply and you do not wish to get the vaccine:

  • You do not want the vaccine
  • You have already had the vaccine
  • You have been advised by your clinician not to get the vaccine (for example, you have been told you are allergic to any of its components)

3. If you would like the vaccine, select “Yes” and sign your form.

4. Next, select the site where you will receive it e.g.Francis Crick Institute at King's Cross. The full address will be provided in your booking confirmation:

  • If you suffer from severe allergies, please refer back to your GP for specialist advice. We are no longer able to offer a specialist allergy consultation.

5. Select a date and time. Slots are released a few days at a time. If there are no slots available try again the next day, new appointment slots are added regularly.

6. Complete your contact details and confirm your appointment. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking with a link to cancel/amend if you need to. If you haven’t received confirmation please check your spam inbox. When you make a booking please keep a separate note of your appointment time and date. If you forget or have any questions, please email us at: uclh.covidvacc@nhs.net

Please note that:

  • You will need to go to your vaccine appointment by yourself unless you have a designated carer that needs to attend your appointment with you.
  • You can find more information on how to reach the Francis Crick Institute here.

When you attend your appointment you need to bring your NHS number. You can find your NHS number as follows:

  • You should be able to find your NHS Number on any letter or document you have received from the NHS, including prescriptions, test results, and hospital referral or appointment letters.
  • Enter your name, date of birth and postcode into the free NHS app (from the App Store or Google Play). This will retrieve your number for you. If you have not been able to find it, you can ask your GP practice to help you. They should be able to provide the number for you as long as you are registered with them. To protect your privacy, you may be asked to show a passport, driving licence or some other form of identification.

Before you have the vaccine, please ask your vaccinator if you have a question or need any further advice before going ahead.

If you are clinically vulnerable, you may prefer to have your vaccine closer to home and book via your GP surgery, rather than travel to central London to have your vaccine.

Please note: you will receive the booster between 8 and 12 weeks after your first one, in line with NHS England guidance. You might be given the appointment details for the second dose when you get your first one, or you might need to be contacted again via email or telephone in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions about the vaccination booking process please contact the team at uclh.covidvacc@nhs.net

Your data - information governance

Please see link to our privacy policy below with details on how UCLH process your data during the COVID-19 pandemic https://www.uclh.nhs.uk/cookies-privacy

UCLH will process your data via the Microcare COVMIS system to help us manage our vaccination clinics and the scheduling of appointments. When you have your vaccine, we upload demographic data such as name, DOB, email, and NHS number to make sure you can receive an email to schedule your first and second booster jabs at the right time.

UCLH is required as part of the national initiative to update the national vaccination systems NIV’s and Pinnacle with the type of vaccine you received and the date it is given. The processing of this information is covered by NHS guidance for the use of the Control of Patient Information Notice (COPI): https://digital.nhs.uk/coronavirus/coronavirus-covid-19-response-information-governance-hub/control-of-patient-information-copi-notice

UCLH will take the vaccination information from the National Systems and upload it back in to COVMIS to allow the booking of the booster appointment. The data UCLH have stored in COVMIS will be transferred to our reporting system to allow us to manage our vaccination programme and to report the government.

UCLH will keep the data for as long as it is needed for vaccination and reporting purposes, and in line with the COPI and data protection regulations and legislations.

If you are unhappy with how your data is being processed please contact our data protection officer at UCLH.IGQueries@nhs.net detailing your concerns.
